IT Support Engineer


➜ Role description:

Providing application and server administration under defined projects and deep technical troubleshooting for problems within the client’s data platform submitted from the Client support desk, other parts of the business or direct from clients. Technical Experts are expected to resolve 75% of technical related questions. This is a highly technical position, requiring excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Fluent use of Linux command line tools and standard log files essential as part of duties. Candidates will be given training in real time market data systems and other applicable trading technology.

a) IT Support: 3 years

b) Linux System Administrator (principally CentOS)

c) Server maintenance and operation (HP and Dell)

d) Server architectures

e) Network communications

f) Real-time data applications

g) Software

h) SNMP knowledge

i) Network Communications (BGP, OSPF, PIM, TCP, UDP), QoS

j) A scripting language

k) Linux command line

l) RedHat Enterprise Virtualisation

m) Asterisk based PBX phone systems and VoIP generally
